little words

CHILDHOOD, FAMILY

Burke: I don’t like cats.
Bethany: Why don’t you like cats, Burke?
Burke: They want to poop in my sandbox.

———————————————————————

(Mark is correcting Liam and poking his finger into Liam’s chest.)

Mark: Don’t…again.
Liam: (dramatic whisper) owww, dad. You’re hurting my heart—you’re hurting Jesus.

———————————————————————

(Mark on his way out the door to drop off Liam for preschool)

Bethany: Remember to tell his teacher that his wag-a-bag is in…
Mark: Wag-a-bag? Seriously (do I have to say that)?

  2. Patti! Wow, what a surprise! Thank you so much for your insight and encouragement. Your family is beautiful…I’ll have to read more of your blog to catch up with you! Pam, Blythe will definitely be a chatterbox (she is now, only we can’t really understand what she’s trying to say)and have a lot to contribute to our dialoge.

  3. I can’t wait for Blythe to start talking…it will add to my compendium of Douglassisms. Way to go Burke, Liam, as always you crack me up, and Mark, what can I say?

  4. Hi Douglass family! It’s so fun to see pictures and hear about you. Bethany, I have found that blogging helps me to feel a little less guilty about all of the people I’m not emailing or calling. Simplicity is such a noble goal. Alas, the getting there is strangely complicated. Mark, that will teach to to poke your finger at Jesus.

  5. It’s a large ziploc bag that has his name on it. Liam is suppose to bring it home on Thursday with all of his art and I return it empty on Thursday. The school calls them wag-a-bags.
