It’s the time of year for holiday parties and dinners and outings, and as a result, I’ve been hunting for new ways to style my hair. Because my life is so busy, most of the time I throw it into a simple pony or bun or braid. When I say most of the time, I actually mean every. Day. Occasionally, I’ll more intentionally place a bobby pin or style it if we’re going out, but even then, I feel I’m in a bit of a rut, relying on the same tricks (and most of the time, I’m ok with that). However, since I’m again overdue for a hair appointment, I imagine I’ll be wearing my hair up often this holiday season, so I’ve been specifically searching for creative ways to twist and braid this year. In case you also needed a little hair-spiration this season, here’s ten of my favorite braid and twist tutorials right now. Happy Monday, everyone!

Hello, I think your blog might be having browser compatibility
issues. When I look at your blog site in Opera, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it has some
overlapping. I just wanted to give you a quick heads
up! Other then that, wonderful blog!
Thanks for letting me know, Eloise.

darling. glad you included the how-tos. I’d love to try a few. planning to donate hair in the spring but determined to learn a trick or two with this long hair in the meantime. this helps.:)
How wonderful, Amy! Well, any of these will look lovely on you until you chop it. x
so so pretty. My hair is getting to the length that it is not manageable without being throw into a braid or updo. These are perfect.
That’s exactly how I feel. I need a fresh cut, but these will certainly due in the meantime. Good luck!
I love braids but my hair length makes it hard to accomplish all those hairstyles..
I know. I’ve tried the crown (where the braid forms a circle around your head), and my hair’s not long enough for it. You should google short or medium length versions. I noticed a few tutorials out there.
I absolutely love braids! Probably my favorite way to style hair–however, I’m horrible at doing it to my own hair, and I always have a lot of layers (thick hair problems…anything to make it feel lighter) so I get strange pieces sticking/falling out haha. One of these days I’ll get it right….I’d love to have my hair like #2, #4, #9, or #10 for my wedding–my favorites!
So do I! They’re so pretty and easy. I still haven’t mastered the French braid, though, and with layers in my hair, I always have pieces everywhere. I sort of prefer the unkept look though. Several of these would look beautiful on you for a bridal updo–great choices.
ah! they’re all so pretty. makes me miss my long hair.
I often want to cut my hair again, but then I remember, it actually requires me to style it more often. I saw a few cute tutorials for shorter hair versions that looked lovely, too.
it definitely requires much more styling. no more throwing it up in a top knot when i haven’t washed it in a week :) thanks to the pregnancy hormones though, mine’s growing pretty quickly!
I love all these options! I have a holiday party to go to this weekend so this will come in handy!
Perfect! So glad to give you some fresh ideas. I tried out the messy milkmaid last night for our party–it was easy and came out lovely. Ideally, I’ll be able to recreate it. (Wink.) Enjoy!
